- A great family holiday destination, Lots of exursions, lovely clean beach with shower. Wide variety of watersports. Fantastic food and restaurants. Wide range of food from snacks to measl to suit all tastes. Good shopping from shops to market, can even shop on a night. People are very friendly. Wide variety of pubs and a few clubs for people who are looking for nightlife. Entertainment on in lots of differnt restaurants/pubs etc. Very clean, didn't see rubbish about. If you want peaceful and tranquil there are places to go same as if you want something a bit more lively. Also guaranteed good weather, nice and hot, especially in main season. A destination would always visit again.
- Useful Tips:
- Haggling for best prices while shopping. Try some of local turkish dishes to eat. Try variety of different restaurants. Excursions are cheaper from booths than from hotel reps. Want to be pampered have a turkish bath well worth money.

- WE WENT TO ICMELER IN MAY AND AGAIN IN JULY WHAT A LOVELY PLACE. THE PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. ICMELER BEACH IS A MAN MADE BEACH WITH SHINGLE ,BUT VERY CLEAN.MANY LOVELY PLACES TO EAT ,TO MANY TO MENTION BUT WOULD RECCOMEND BLONDIES . FOOD OUT OF THIS WORLD.ALL IN ALL ICMELER IS VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.
- Useful Tips:
- people should look out for the people selling boat trips. We were told we were having an all inclusive barbecue but our meal consisted of a chicken type buger(cooked in the galley kitchen)PASTA AND SALAD.A Big dissappointment when you were expecting a barbie.The drinks were served in small plastic cups,not good value really.BEWARE.

- The Turkish people are helpful, friendly and attentive and the resort is very clean. We stayed in the residential old village which was quiet but only a short walk from the main activities and nightlife. Dolmus and local trips are good value for money and generally the costs are not high - especially whilst Turkey is not in the Euro-zone. We didn't have a single bad meal in the whole 2 weeks we were in Turkey. We mainly used OZZYs restaurant but still ate at others (with SET and IL MAESTRO being highly recommended). Car hire is available but be warned - fuel prices are very high (currently equivalent to about £1-40 a litre). The beaches are more "gritty" than sandy but there are sandy beaches in the surrounding areas. Definitely a "must do" holiday then you to will feel that it is a "must do again".
- Useful Tips:
- Single girls may find themselves overwhelmed by the Turkish men but generally holidaymakers should not be put off by stories of being hassled. The laws allow the local "Zabita" to close down any establishments who hassle tourists or who make excessive noise after midnight. Must do things include a trip to Ephysus (one of the 7 wonders of the world), the mud baths at Dalyan, a Turkish shave (for the men obviously), a trip to pammakule,

- I want to keep Icmeler all to myself. Icmeler is in the next bay to Marmaris, but it is so different. Icmeler is so different, it is much quieter, having a horse-shoe bay of gently-shelving soft sand with a palm-tree lined boulevard for evening stolls. The local people are very welcoming and eating out is still very reasonable, for example you can still get a full English breakfast for £2.00, a pint of Efes beer for £1.50 and a meal for £5.00. A must is a visit to the Wednesday market where you can purchase pine honey made up in the hills and the fresh fruit and vegetables are so fresh. The usual T-shirts, shoes, bags and towelling products are good value. Another 'must' is a boat trip around the bays. A walk into the Old Village is not on the tourist itinery but is very worthwhile as you can see people going about their daily lives, where villagers still tend the soil in the same way as their great-grandparents and beyond. Icmeler is brilliant.
- Useful Tips:
- Visit the small shops along the canal and if self-catering, Tansas is the local supermarket. The dolmus is a small minibus which stops just about everywhere along the main roads and will take you to Marmaris if you want a busier shopping environment. In the other direction can be found the bay of Turunc which is well worth a visit. Both towns have markets (Monday - Turunc; Thursday - Marmaris)and can also be reached via the water-taxis which leave from the main jetties near the canal in Icmeler. If you have the time, a visit to Ephesus (one of the original seven wonders of the world) is a never-to-be-forgotten experience. You can see the ruts in the road which were made by charriot wheels. This is a one-day trip which can be extended to two days to include Pamukkale. Another trip I would recommend is to Dalyan along the coast to the river where you can see the tombs of the kings which were carved into the rock-face. Never to be forgotten!

- We ended up much farther out than originaly planned due to XL going bust but we still got decent apartments & probably found pubs/restaurents that we would never have walked to from the center of Icmeler,now were glad because we found some great places on the outskirts with great people to match & all really within 15 mins walk from our aparts. As for Icmeler itself if your after late night entertainment(ie after 12pm)then go to Marmaris which is also great,but if you want cheap food/drink all day & can go back to your hotel just after 12 then this is the place for you.Highly recommended, the prices are cheap,the people are supurb & the the place is especially good if you want a relaxing holiday + some of the cheapest Cafes on any beachfront I would say in Europe.We prefer it now after 5 years in Marmaris cos its cheaper & just as good & were still in our 30s, Love It Try It Out you shouldn`t be disappointed just don`t pay more than £350pp for a fortnight S/C cos we aint for years.
- Useful Tips:
- A lot of the cafes on the beach front are exceptional value for money during the day, a family of 4 could eat very well every day in those places & save a fortune on evening meals.A lot of places do put entertainment on for you but the resort does seem to close down around 12pm so if you like later nights or nightclubs then this isn`t the resort for you.The beach isn`t free to go on as far as I know it costs about £1 each per day but they do look after you very well(don`t know if they charge for kids)plus they even wash and & dry your towels for you so they are ready for the next day,great if your a beachlover/sunbather.Most of food outlets are good value & you can usually get whatever you like but I would recommend trying to find a local Turkish restaurant(not your usual pub/restaurant)because they are usually fantastic,there is a small one set back between the Majestic & Dreamboys opposite The Pirates Bar which most people just walk past because they don`t hassle you for business.
