Set between the mountains and the sea, Dalaman is quickly becoming a place that people go to instead of just a place to stop and stretch your legs. Those visitors who come to Turkey on holiday in search of architecture and history might want to take a ride on the Dalyan River and look at the Kaunos archaeological site and tombs that were carved into the limestone mountain. At the end of your journey you will reach Iztuzu beach, which is the world's 6th most famous beach. It's six kilometers long and home to a sanctuary for sea turtles. While the turtles are the star of the show here, Iztuzu beach is also renowned for the lack of crowds and the long stretch of pristine sand backed by beautiful countryside.
