- fantastic had a brilliant time loads of historical sights jewellry, carpets, markets,moderate night life. very friendly people, weather very hot, boat trips, jeep safari, sauna, turkish bath loads of things to do, would definately go back to turkey again

- GUMBET IS ABOUT 1 HOUR FROM AIRPORT - IFF NOT LESS. GREAT VIEWS.A CENTRAL LOCATION TO GET TO SEE ABOUT ETC. BODRUM NEAR BY-MANY SHOPS. GET GREAT BARGAINS - DONT PAY FIRST ASKED PRICE - BARTER WITH THEM - YOU WILL GET A DEAL PRICE. BITEZ NEXT BAY - BEAUTIFULL THEIR - QUITER PLACE. LOTS OF WATER SPORTS - YOU GET FREE BEACH CHAIRS AND A WAITER SERVICE RIGHT ON THE BEACH. YOU GET GREAT BOAT TRIPS FROM GUMBET - VERY CHEAP. THE RESTAURANTS ARE ALL SO GOOD - CATER FOR ALL. SOME ARE OWNED BY ENGLISH COUPLES WHO SERVE ENGLISH MEALS ETC. ALL TURKISH PEOPLE LOVE CHILDREN - AND REALLY MAKE ALL VERY WELCOME. I HAVE BEEN TO TURKEY IN GUMBET FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS FOR HOLIDAYS.WENT TWICE IN ONE YEAR AS FIND SOME GOOD DEALS FROM ON THE BEACH HOLIDAYS. - ALL WAYS HAVE BOTTLED WATER.AND MAKE SURE ICE IN DRINKS IS BOTTLED WATER. MOST PLACES DO. THEIR IS LOTS OF MOSSIES - SO SPRAY WELL. CHECK ABOUT PRICES FOR MEALS AND DRINKS ETC.AND LOTS OF RESTAURANTS DO FREE WINE WITH MEALS.DONT BOOK FIRST PRICE FOR TRIPS - CAN GET CHEAPER.YOU GET GOOD DEALS WHEN BOOK ALL TRIPS TOGETHER. - Gumbet is a fun lively resort with wonderful weather, the food in the restaurants was good and the nightlife was good. Also the day trips on offer were excellent. However be prepared to shop around for a good deal on the excursions!
- Useful Tips:
- The boat trip is excellent and very good value with some excellent stop-offs. Also the horse riding was good fun and allowed us to see more of real turkish life. We hired a scooter and this enabled us to come across some lovely bays along the coastal roads. There are some good restaurants on the beach and also a good chinese at the top end of the town. The only thing that I would say is that if you are buying alcohol, the spirits are very expensive.

- Gumbet has everything for all types of groups There are queit areas and lively areas. Some great restuarnts Such as the "Columbain steak house", and the "Parrot". The locals are friendly and will remember you if you visit again. There is such a lot to do and its fun bartering in the shops and markets. There are boat trips to other bays and even across to Kos. Shopping for fashion is cutting edge, very often the newest trends are availble before they become popular in the UK. Jewelry is such a good buy Its often worth double what you pay for it in Turkey, barter for a good price even in jewelers. The food is reasonable and often discounts or free wine are given as incentives to eat at a particular one. There is a lot of competition. "Sues place" is good for fish and chips and surfing the net.
- Useful Tips:
- Use the bigger supermarkets if you are selfcatering its cheaper for most things. use local shops for milk and bread. Use the Dolmus to get around they are cheap and fun. Agree a price before you go anywhere in a taxi because they are expensive. The local travel companies are very competative and I can recomend Kanni and Jospeh at "KLS" they will advise when its is best to go or even, if to go somewhere.

- There is something for everyone here. Wonderful people, sunshine and great food.
- Useful Tips:
- Have a good look around before you buy. There are some great bargains. The people here are really protective, friendly and family orientated. They are very respectful and caring to elderly and great fun. Quite rightly, they will not tolerate bad manners, and if you are polite and friendly they will be too. Be careful when out at night. Party until the very early hours, local alcohol is cheaper and larger pours, girls stay together just like at home!Great time if you are sensible. The hotels you select can be basic or five star, all are clean and no matter what you can afford to pay you will get value for money. The small buses (dolmus)can take you around the coast and also run all night so trips to Bodrum town is worth doing in the evening. Great place but depending on the location of your hotel can be noisy sometimes so select what is best for you. There are loads of restaurants and the food is excellent, watersports are great and day boat trips are really great value.

- great location always hot, people very friendly, not in the euro so thats a bonus. In gumbet u have the choice of total peace or 10 minutes away loads of clubs and bars

- Great place to go for a fun holiday, plenty of bars and restaurants and loads of shops with plenty shops to haggle in!!! Don't pay the asking price!!

- Getting conned in the shops, as I said above dont pay the price they ask, always haggle and drop the price or u will get ripped off.
