Visited in July. The weather was great but the main beach too packed, it was so busy we couldn't find a place!A lot of Turkish people holiday here. We stayed just out of the resort centre and travelled in by dolmus. These are cheap and regular. If your accommodation has a decent pool I would stay by it rather than go to the beach in the busy months.
Useful Tips:
The water park was a great day out.

Comments:
I have visited several diffent Turkish resorts and enjoyed every experience. However, The jewel in the crown has to be Altinkum. Once we found Altinkum, we returned year after year and have visited about 10 times. The beaches are clean and safe. There are plenty of shops to visit if shopping is your thing, or you can avoid all of that if you so wish and just enjoy the typical Turkish hospitality which you will find in abundance in Altinkum. I have made several friendships with Turkish people and I know these friendships are genuine and true. I may only see them for 2 weeks of the year but we pick up where we left off whenever I am fortunate enough to return and am always greeted with warmth and respect.
Useful Tips:
A good choice of restaurants and bars and a fun loving Turkish hospitality. You cannot possibly visit without making friends with the locals. You will feel welcome will be treated with respect and a service that is second to none. The weather is beautiful and there are so many places of interst in Turkey to visit. You must try and go on a boat trip and if possible a visit to Ephasus.

Altinkum is filled with the most friendly people i have ever met. The beach is beautiful and the restaurants serve the most delicious food i have tasted. We now go at least twice a year and are welcomed back as though we are family to the Turkish locals. There are so many sights to see in the area i can never tire of it
Useful Tips:
Try a boat trip but use plenty of sun cream it's very hot. You must try the local cuisine it is so tasty. The locals are so friendly and love it if you try their language e.g Merhaba means hello

Really enjoyable break in Altinkum Turkey. One of the first times we've travelled to Turkey & used On the Beach. It was fantastic - lovely weather, a really nice resort & great selection of restaurants. Our kids have quite diverse needs ( aged 4, 8 , 15 & 17 ), so choosing the right location is often something of a gamble, but Altinkum really ticked all the boxes. My wife & I could relax & take in the sun poolside, while the kids had plenty to do. In the evenings we went out every night to eat, enjoyed camel rides and later, bartering for gifts for everyone back home. Really nice time & would certainly recommend as a destination for other families. Chris & Steph Watson from Lincolnshire
Useful Tips:
Trip to nearby Apollo Temple, boat trips around local bays & spending time enjoying traditional cuisine.

Comments:
Akbuk, is a quite and unspoiled part of Turkey. This is where the Turkish people go for there holiday. Its relaxing and a beautiful destination. With the mountains as backdrop and the beautiful sea view. Its the perfect gettaway. There are small shops and a few retaurants which are not in your face, you can choose at your leisure. The people are very friendly and want to help any way they can. There are a couple of night spots to dance your heart away right next to the beach. If you want to go on a fishing trip or need anything the local guy in Liberty bar can help you out. There are supermarkets and banks and even a couple of internet cafes, but all in all just unspoilt at the moment. The next main town close is Altinkum (40mins away by car or local bus)this has every attraction that you need if want the hustle and bustle. 1hr drive over the mountains from Bodrum airport. We do have a villa that we own
Useful Tips:
Its not very busy, so can take time on choosing restaurants. Lots of villas so may get a villa to rent. The hotels are small but have all that you need. Need a car to get around to site see. Food fantastic. Locals prefer Turkish Lira to the Euro. Cheaper than the main town to eat and shop.
