Fantastic mountain village, beautifully presented just north of Marbella in the foothills. Rightly deserves its title of the 'dining room of the Costa del Sol'. Plenty of restaurants with fantastic food and friendly and relaxed service where you can eat quietly or join in with the locals.
Plenty of local walks to work off the previous evenings over-indulgence and not too far (by car) from the beaches and nightlife of the Costa del Sol.
Will definitely return, just for the food and drink.
Stayed in the 4* hotel Gran Benahavis, try the spa facilities but eat in the village. Everything's uphill from the hotel but that just makes the walk back easier.
Had a most enjoyable 10 days over Xmas/New Year and would highly recommend Benahavis to anyone.
Useful Tips:
You'll need a car to get around, Beneahavis is a few miles from everywhere else.
Drink in El Ambiente, eat in Amigos and then try the rest.
Visit Ronda for a 'fun' drive over the mountains and some spectacular scenery.
