- albufeira is a lovely place old town was my favourite have spent some money on area around beach putting in escalators and beach bars and toilets
- Useful Tips:
- portugal is generally hilly so you find yourself going up and down between hotel and beach, but there is a noddy train that goes between.

- I love the Algarve and have stayed in Vale De Parra 5 times now, it has the best beaches, the locals are friendly, the surrounding areas are lovely, the restaurants are lovely too. I will be going again, and again and again for my anual holidays.
- Useful Tips:
- If staying in Vale De Parra you should definitly try Casa De Carne restaurnat, and the Cabinitas bar. If you have a family try the Zoomarine great place for kids with added relaxation for the adults. Algarve shopping for all you need from high end clothes boutiques and general supermarkets. You must check out a few of the beaches, Gale, Castelo etc all very beautiful.
On the beach staff was very helpfull, booked last minute.

- Destination was great, just what we wanted a last minute break away, food was good in the hotel staff were freindly and good with the children, Beaches was a bit of a walk but we like to walk so that was not a problem.

- not suitable for someone that does not like a walk.

- Fantastic destination. Superb food, fantastic clean, golden beaches, friendly people, marvelous water parks. Have been coming here for the past 9 years normally twice a year - been in Feb, March, April, October and November but June has been the best so far. Lovely to see the streets so busy with families promenading in the evenings, interesting street entertainers and nik nak stalls. Also the cost of living definitely giving a better deal than previously. A euro a pint can't be bad!Wish I was there now. Night life can go on as late as you want with plenty of lively bars for partiers. Good local bus service to lovely fishing village of Alvor (also home of the Irish Bar!) and Portimao which is great for upmarket shopping - especially shoes. Although there is a euro shop - the equivilant of our pound shop!

- Slide and splash a must for kids, zoo worth a visit and jeep safari an exciting but bumpy ride

- Fantasic for out of season, lovely warm days but slightly cooler in the February evening. Lots of bars and restaurants to try. Beach lovely and sandy and not crowded. Would recommend at this time of the year.

- Is hilly, so if you aren't too mobile, check where your hotel is.

- It was a lovely place for a relaxing holiday but there was also the opportunity to go out clubbing etc if wanted. A good destination for all types of holiday maker. The people were really friendly and it was generally quite cheap to eat and drink there. Would definitely go again!!
- Useful Tips:
- Where we were situated was quite hilly so if you are not very mobile (or just a bit lazy) its not ideal. However, a taxi from the town centre to the top of the hill was relatively cheap at around €3-€4

- We were on the strip in Albufeira. Ideal for everything good bars and great places to eat and most very good value. Beer was about 2 euros a pint some places was 1.50 euros a pint and a proper pint at that. Food prices varied from around 5 euros to abput 10 euros for set menus and all good quality food. We found that up around the Montechero Hotel there were better place to eat and drink with it being more spread than the main strip. Found the Cottage Restuarant was doing a english breakfast for just 1.99 euros or have double for 3.95 euros best brekkie by far. The mini train to the old town was brill was very handy and ran until about 1am. Although you got pestered at nights with touts for bars and restuarants they were very friendly even if you did not want to go in. Best bar was Cafe De Mar on the main strip. They kept there happy hour of 2 euros a pint all night. Where most stopped at around 10.30pm. Going back next year looking to rent a villa this time.
- Useful Tips:
- Do not ignore the touts for beer and food. they give out good flyers. Try uo towards the Montechero Hotel and work your way down i think there are better bars and resturants. If planning on doing trips go to The Ticket Shop on the strip by far the cheapest and they were giving a free gypsy market trip if you booked any two trips. Watch out if going to the old town at night as most bars stop the happy hours around 8.30pm and start charging around 3 euros a pint.

- Carveiro is on a coast within easy drive of loads of fantastic sandy bays with crystal clear waters. This is also where many portugese choose to holiday. There are loads of restaurants and bars, the only downside is its quite expensive mostly due to the euro rate at the moment. I Would def. go back.
- Useful Tips:
- Its best to hire a car so that you can visit lots of different beaches, and take a parasol, you will need it!!!
