- Playa del Carmen is a town located 1 hr south of Cancun. It is the perfect place to go whether you are on a family holiday or a romantic getaway. The beaches are white and sandy, local people are friendly and helpful and there are activities to suit every taste. I highly recomend visiting the archeological sites of Coba and Tulum, they are less than 1 hr drive away. We took a tour with 'Alltournative' to Nohoch (Jungle Crossing) which involved snorkeling in a Cenote (underground river), kayaking and snorkeling in the sea. Our guide was extraordinary making us feel safe and giving us a real taste of the local culture! We also went to Xcaret, which is a nature/adventure park. Stay for the evening show, the Ball Game and Regional Mexican dances are amazing! Entrance tickets are not cheap, but worth every penny! I would recommend staying in a hotel close to the town centre where there are plenty of shops and bars to visit!
- Useful Tips:
- Check whether your hotel hires out bicycles, it's the best way to get around town. If you receive a good service, don't forget to tip hotel/restaurant staff and tour guides as this is customary in Mexico and it's rude not to do so!

- we booked the holiday through your company we stayed at the oasis viva beach in cancun which was out of this world couldnt fault anything food was the best hotel staff were great and my sons wedding was lovely in playa del carmen we had a great time cant wait to go back next year thanks mrs m j thompson

- drug dealers in the city dont use taxis use the public transport very good service 24 hours

- This holiday destination was the most serene and relaxing holiday i have ever been on. The mexican people are soo friendly, the nightlife is so safe and the best thing about it was that drinks were so cheap. you buy a wrist band and you can drink unlimited. Our hotel was in a perfect location- near the pirate ship and we got to see all the partying from our hotel room. Excellent, would reccommend to all ages. We stayed at the Barcelo hotel.

- Checzen-Itza- Tomb stones Pirate Ship- Party the night away- with BBQ on board Xel-Xa- ideal for snorkiling & skuba diving Jungle tour- this is hiring your own boat and driving it through the jungle.

- I think cancun is a great place, lovely beaches, some fantastic hotels and the locals are nice people, its much cheaper than most of the caribbean.
- Useful Tips:
- i would recommend a 4*+ hotel at least, preferably on the beach side.

- Great weather, beautiful beaches, fab hotels and friendly people. Something for everyone,relaxation,sightseeing,shopping, watersports or just relaxing. Also great for weddings,special birthdays etc.
- Useful Tips:
- Dont just spend 2 weeks in an all inclusive hotel - get out and about using the local bus service which is cheap and reliable. Paradise beach near Tulum has got to be the best beach in the world!

- i've not been outside Europe for a holiday before so i expected something more exotic from Cancun but i was extremely disappointed. Obviously the language was different but besides that it could have been anywhere on the British coast. Gale force winds, storms and torrential rain every other day and it was nothing special and certainly not cheap. The shopping centres were alright and the beaches were ok but i don't go on holiday for that, i want sunshine but that wasn't very often in Cancun. The nightlife was fine but nothing better than any other city and the prices were the same as Britain. Next time i will stick to Europe and save my money.

- Take an umbrella and wellies as you will need them.

- This destination is pieceful during the day and soon lights up in the evening althought there are places to escape the nightlife. hotels have all got great views of the coast and enterainment is plenty, beautiful blue see and white sandy beached. SunShine all day and warm at night. best holiday ever .

- The heat could be quite intence i think that people with very small children maybe should wait till children and bare the heat. Also a long flight so if you dont like flying this my not be for you
