Sliema is one of the most established coastal resorts on the island of Malta. Activity tends to predominantly focus on the Strand - a broad promenade which spans 5km and heads north towards the resort of St Julians along which you can experience spectacular views of Valletta, the capital city of Malta.
Once a tiny fishing port, Sliema has since developed into a busy and popular resort which is home to both upmarket hotels and impressive residential dwellings, making it popular with both tourists and locals alike.
Weather
Sliema's weather makes it an ideal place to visit all year round. In the summer temperatures can reach above 30° Celsius - the perfect time for topping up your tan on holidays to Sliema. Even in the winter months the temperatures rarely dip below 10° Celsius, so you can still enjoy a stroll along the promenade whilst sampling some of its many other attractions.
