Malta is a beautiful country. the people are very warm and welcoming. and the atmosphere is great. however it is very touristy and is like england abroad at times. i was surprised at how expensive things are in malta. i guess the euro is to blame for that. we had a great time just relaxing and visiting the tourist attractions, like the blue lagoon (where i got stung by a small jelly fish!), valetta, the slient city iof the mdina is very a calming place to go.
Useful Tips:
the costs of life in malta. i was surprised by this. get stuck in and go visit the attractions.

Comments:
Great location. Lots of shops, restaurants and wonderful atmosphere.Only downside: got a parking ticket!Be careful where you park as there are lots of places where you can't!Hefty fine of 25E didn't make our day! There are lots to do in and around Mellieha specially during the warmer months(March-September):swimming,diving, snorkelling, different types of water sports,Sea life park, hiking and even cycling(if you're brave enough). The roads are narrow(much like England)and hilly.Malta's really picturesque during the day and at night too.As it's a small island, it takes only a short time to get lots of places of interest. You're never far from a church and they're kept in really good condition too.Unique lovely old buses too.The weather was kind to us(20C and just one shower). We've been lots of times and would hope to go again.
Useful Tips:
If you hire a car, be careful where you park as there aren't many places where there aren't any restrictions.

Villages of Tal-Fanal and Ta' Sbejha are so relaxing. We stayed at Tal-Fanal, but went and saw Ta Sbejha too. Sunbeds were in need of replacing but the one bed apartment was massive, so my 2 children had plenty of room & we didnt feel crampt in the rest of the living area.Undergroung parking was a must. the car was always cool.Have fallen in love with Gozo.x x
Useful Tips:
Always hire a car. Have a meal at Ta Frenc.Definately go to a festival in one of the villages.

We went with our 2 young sons and had a lovely relaxing time. The weather was not too hot nor cold. The popeye village was great fun for the children. The boat trips were beautiful and the cities culturally interesting. We would vist Malta again. The fresh food was delicious too.
Useful Tips:
If they want a sandy beach head for Golden Bay.

Istayed in the PRIMERA Hotel although it was basic i found it ok we had a clean bed and we were out all of the time Ifound the staff very nice food was good. the resort Buggiba was an excellent base. go to the local areas by the local bus cost 16 euros, you can get the buses on the sea front, you can also walk along the prom to other resorts, the people were friendly, would not take the boat trip to,St Pauls again,i found it a waste of money.I enjoyed my trip to malta it was only a short stay but i am thinking of going back. i went in may end of.What i really liked most of all was i not once heard the F word, nor did i come across any laga louts was i just lucky? maybe but i am going back and hope to stay at the Primera Hotel
Useful Tips:
All the things you would normally look out for where ever you go abroad its just common sense

Comments:
the destination was lovely the hotel was awful, we were not told that the hotel would have 100 students there! they were very noisey, until 2.30am, setting off lift alarms, shouting running along the corridors.we tried to avoid their meal times only to find they had eaten everything!the staff loooking after the students were very rude when i spoke to them to complain. i would never go there again and would not recomend this hotel, it was more like a youth hostel! other people also complained. the hotel staff were ok.
Useful Tips:
do your research find out if students are in the hotel, i wish i had!

We have been to MALTA 20 times and have loved it, till this time, roads are now terrible, when other drivers try to force hire cars off the road, and the younger maltese are arrogent.BUILDING AND HAMMERING, all over the island, wont be going again.
Useful Tips:
holes in the roads time-share pests, dangerous, maniac, drivers. falling masonery,a bucket of tools dropped from 20 foot, just missed my wife by inches.Jack hammers everywhere, even in airport, otherwise great, beaches food etc.

Comments:
Marvellous religious buildings, surrounded by blocks of concrete. Gozo worth a visit, a very sleepy laid back island.
Useful Tips:
The architecture of the churchs, Mdina worth a look, a little commercial but you don't have to buy anything.
