The holiday resort Vila Porto Mare is within the main tourist area of Funchal, right by the sea. It boasts the largest green zone and garden area of any tourist hotel in the capital city. The fact that the hotel is surrounded by 20.000 square meters of gardens sets it significantly apart. Along with the low volume of construction and the style of the buildings, this creates the atmosphere of a southern village.
