Accommodation

The hotel is composed of six adjacent buildings stretching over 300m along the street and opposite a variety of local shops and bars. Each building has three floors with the twin rooms being located in the 5th and 6th buildings. Each room is equipped with private bathroom, 2 large single beds, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box (payable locally), central heating, TV and a balcony.

Food & Beverage

The Tropical restaurant with a gorgeous dining terrace looking out over the lush gardens to desert islands on the ocean horizon serves meals (open from 07.30-10.00 for a buffet breakfast, 12.30-14.00 for a set menu lunch and 18.00-21.30 for buffet dinner). The Caracalla bar is located by the indoor pool and offers an exotic atmosphere. During the day, it is a wonderful place to relax in the sun and enjoy your favourite drink, while later it becomes the softly lit venue for the live entertainment provided every night (open daily from 10.00-00.00). The Pool Bar is next to the outdoor swimming pool in the hotels luxuriant gardens and is the ideal place to enjoy Madeira’s warm sunshine while having a light lunch, snack or drink (open 10.00-18.00, in season). Half Board: local wines and beers as well as soft drinks and mineral water) are included with dinner.

All Inclusive Food & Drinks

The AI programme consists of buffet breakfast (07:30-10:00), set menu lunch (12:30-14:00) and buffet dinner (18:00-20:00 or 20:00-21:30), all served in the Tropical restaurant. During meals local wine, local beer, soft drinks and mineral water are offered. Snacks such as sandwiches, hamburgers and salads are available by the swimming pool during lunch time (replacing lunch). Tea & coffee time with salted snacks, finger sandwiches, ice cream, etc is from 16:00-17:00 at the Bristol or the Caracalla bar. Locally produced alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks like wine, beer, rum, gin, vodka, whisky, cocktails, soft drinks, mineral water, coffee and tea are served from 10:00-24:00 at the restaurant, the Bristol bar (by the outdoor pool) and the Caracalla bar (by the indoor pool) – according to each outlets’ opening hours.

Sports & Leisure

The Dom Pedro Garajau Hotel has excellent facilities for leisure, relaxation and entertainment. The indoor pool - under a sliding roof - is heated. Here guests will find sun-loungers, showers and towel service. The outdoor pool and children pool are set among palm trees by the pool bar. The attractive and generously sized free-form pools are divided by a bridge leading to the thatched bar where drinks and snacks are served, showers and a towel service are also available. The Cristo Rei outdoor pool is located 750m from the hotel, next to the Statue of Christ, and again sun loungers and showers are available. Other sports include snooker, table tennis, darts, games room and a sports court (equipment for volleyball, badminton, bowls and archery are available at the hotel). There are tennis courts 750m from the hotel (rackets and balls available on request).
