- Very authentic and cultural people and places. Perfect weather between 22-29C we had in Oct/Nov. Lots of gardens and mountain scenery. The capital Funchal is a must with cobbled streets and treelined pavements
- Useful Tips:
- If driving get a good map or satnav. It's easy to get lost. Don't hire a car with engine smaller than 1.4 TD, it's very mountainous and steep.

- Always wary of recommending somewhere because all people different. However must stick neck out and say this is a most wonderful Island and I would not hesitate to go back if the opportunity arises again.
- Useful Tips:
- Lovely weather, Flora, Cable ar to onte and Botanical Gardens. Funchal ideal for cosmopoltan life. I stayed in Santa Cruz which I loved. Bus tours well worth the money. I simply loved it hereand cannot speak highly enough.

- loved it what a great place lovely weather superb food and the flowers are so beautiful I love it there,a great lido very impressed I have been to Madeira for a long time and I hope to be back very soon its like being in paradise so divine so beautiful

- Madeira was a real shock for me. I expected very little and was very surprised by the beauty of the island. Great food, lovely people and an interesting history made my holiday in Madeira a memmorable one

- We love maderia, the people, the wine, the food, weather. The people are so friendly and as a mixed race couple we have had problems at home and away, but never in Maderia
- Useful Tips:
- Take a trip on the cable car to Monte especially on the 15th of August- though the toboggan does not run on that day.. Try the restaurants on the little road opposite the Carlton Maderia.

- Fantastic place, green and very diverse island. Very nice people but not many speek english. Perfect food and not expensive, great roads, beautiful views. Ideal place to visit

- Very nice destination .Plenty of excellent shops and places to eat. Weather was fantastic. We stayed in Funchal and lots of very interesting places to visit and excursions on offer.
- Useful Tips:
- Excursions to both west and east of island both worth going on with lots of interesting sights and cultures.Deep sea fishing trips also excellent as long as you don't get sea sick like I did!

- perfect to relax unwind,eat good food and take as much or as little exercise as you like.

- the cable car in funchal,the toboggan ride down the streets of monte,any island tour,eat the traditional scabbard fish.

- great place for scenery and if you like walking.tried the lavada walk.different grades to suit difficulty.easy one ok but neet decent boots/clothes for others.not beach holiday as only one beach.

- A spectacular Island perched in the Atlantic Ocean which looks to defy habitation.Modern roads have been carved through the rock to give excellent access to all parts of the Island and the verdant soil and tropical climate gives rise to beautiful flowers in all seasons.No beaches on Madeira but worth a visit for the scenery and climate.
- Useful Tips:
- Be aware that weather can change very quickly and mists occur in the mountains. Car hire is needed to get the most out of a visit to Madeira and some must see's are: Funchal and Cable Car to Monte and Tropical Gardens. Walk along a Levada. Spectacular coatline and inland villages.
