My partner and I recently returned from a week in Lido. We were very happy with the destination and found Lido very relaxing and beautiful, and close enough to Venice for trips. We were so glad we stayed here away from the hustle and bustle of Venice so we could take time out when needed. We enjoyed some lovely bike rides around lido and seen some fantastic views. Would definitely recommend the resort and would love to return one day.
Useful Tips:
If you are considering taking many trips to Venice and other islands (Murano is a must), consider buying a boat ticket for the week as singles are very expensive. Generally everything in Venice is expensive, and Lido was not cheap either, so take lots of spending money.

Comments:
It was fabulous, when I booked I was asked where it was as it seams not many people have heard of the Island! It has the Sun, beautiful beaches and breathtaking views. It was for my honeymoon, (with two children 7 & 9) we had a villa appartment on a private beach, just yards from the main hotel, but you felt like it was your own spot. Everyone was friendly and the food was wonderful where ever we ate, catering for all tastes as well as plenty of traditional Italian dishes. We started with one night in a B&B from ONTB in Italy then wondered down to the ferries to cross to the Island. You don't need to spend a fortune for an Island holiday like this, just book flights to Italy, see a little there first before heading to Ischia, it is wonderful & I would definately go back!!
Useful Tips:
Plenty of transport you can go online & check the ferry & busses out in advance, but they are so regular you never wait long. Ask staff to recomend restaurants to get a real feel of Italian culture, some are tucked away, but worth hunting out!

Rome is like a massiv open museum. It a really interesting a beautiful city. I would definalty recoment Rome as one of the top twenty places to go before you die.
Useful Tips:
If you are up for guided tours, make sure you have plenty af time in the Coloseum, and the Palastin Hills - its two very interesting places. I would say about 3-4h each place. Also make sure you go and see the Vatican City. We did a 3,5h guided tour here and that was great cause we skiped all ques, which means that we probably did the tour in half the time as if we had done it on our own and we got a lot smarter as well by having a guide!

Beautiful city. We stayed at the Cesare Augusto right in the centre almost next door to the train and bus stations. We got around to the historical sites of Heraclium and Pompeii easily and cheaply on the local small cheap train which goes as far as Naples( the train is cheap and cheerful not posh in any way) We pre booked a trip in England to the Amalfi coast, the pick up point was in the centre of Sorrento just down the road from our hotel. There were quite a few elderly English people there as it is reasonably flat and esay for them to get about. The lanes in the old part of Sorrento are a joy with small interesting shops, plenty of designer shops for the real shoppers in the main streets. Food great, the weather was showery but warm and the scenery beautiful. This is a place for everyone.
Useful Tips:
Cheap local transport check it out before you book with your English tour company
