Weather

Zante has a Mediterranean climate meaning it gets long hot summers and mild winters. The best time to visit is anywhere between April, when it starts to heat up, and September, when it starts to cool off a little. Nightlife

Vassilikos is a quiet resort but there is still a decent night life for those looking let their hair down. Aside from traditional tavernas and restaurants there are several clubs each with their own very strong identity. If you would like to party late, then head to Laganas or Kalamaki.

History

Zante has a rich history and has been well known since the Trojan War. It also has a strong religious culture. One of the biggest festivals of the year is the Holy Week celebration. Easter starts on Holy Tuesday when the St. Denis choir chants the traditional Psalms. On Good Friday, the main procession through Zante town commences at 2pm.
