- Our third visit to zante proved to be just as good as the other two visits fine beaches, secluded coves,beautiful turquose waters the scenery here is breathtaking, we hired a jeep so that we could visit the untouched parts of the island we stayed in kalamaki which is great for families and the elderley as its easy for walking there are a good amount of restaurants and bars a thoroughly enjoyable holiday

- Awesome, awesome place! There are loads of local boat trips available, so if you go there on holiday, whatever you do DON'T lay by the pool all day! It was so worth the money just to get a glimpse of such clear, turquiose water lapping around pure white beaches, hidden caves, even dolphins kept up with our boat! Known especially for logger head turtles nesting on their beaches at night, many people we spoke to saw them,, sadly we didn't, but we did see a stingray! Lovely people, great food if you chose proper Greek tavernas, lots of nightlife and atmosphere. We went Go Karting, played Crazy Golf in Kalamaki (owner's a nice guy too!!), hired our own pleasure boat and pedalo, others on our holiday were sociable and we all enjoyed swapping stories of our adventures in the evenings. Golden Sun Hotel we stayed in, lovely pool and bar area compared to other hotels, very clean pool and hot showers, rooms were basic but who wanted to stop inside anyway!? No problems with flights.
- Useful Tips:
- Car hire company threw in a stealth insurance claiming we needed to pay an extra 50 euros for sump/tyre insurance as the roads are so bad. We spoke to an ex carhire proprietor who says that was already included. The roads are VERY dangerous, expecially in the mountains, local drivers are oblivious to obvious hazards. If you are bothered by locals in one area to spend your money with them, it does not mean every town is the same, it differed. Watch where you walk at night, nothing is finished properly and you really need to watch where you step. Snakes are lurking & although we saw 3, we didn't know if they were dangerous or not. We were told to watch out for handbag snatchers on motor scooters but didn't see any evidence ourselves or heard anyone had been a victim while there.

- THE BEST HOLIDAY WE HAVE EVER HAD KALAMAKI WAS FRIENDLY FULL OF FAMILY LIFE GREAT BEACH BREATH TAKING VIEWS TOTALLY GREEK VERY FRIENDLY - WILL DEFINATLY RETURN

- Lovely destination. Great night life but nothing to extreme! Great bars, great restaraunts and very friendly people! Lovely beaches. you can awlk the whole way round to resorts on either side along the beaches! Boiling hot weather that gave me a fantastic sun tan! Everything I wanted from a holiday. Shops were nice and not over "touristy" but for this it was only a 10 minute drive to Laganas a busy toiurist resourt with busy bars, booming night clubs and the typical holiday vibe with stals and shops full of souvenirs. HIghly reccomend a boat trip to see the turtles!

- Loads of companies selling boat trips be careful of those that don't go out far enough to see anything. Some parts of the beaches closed off due to nesting season for protected turtles
