Comments:
This is the most beautiful of all the greek islands we have visited. It is laid back and caters for everyone from surfers to the more mature visitor. While the beaches are not white sand (most are black shingle)they are still kept superbly clean and have all the facilities you would expect from a beach destination. There was a lot of building going on when we were there however it was all low key and did not intrude on our holiday. The sunset in oia was the most spectacular we have ever seen.
Useful Tips:
Must see the sunset from oia. Visit any of the seafood restaraunts on the seafront in Perissa, and definately do the boat trip around the calderra- if you feel very brave/daft you can even climb to the top!!!

2nd time here. Its a wonderful, picturesque holiday. This year was marred by over-inflated prices for everything apart from bus fares. The amount of motor bikes is beyond a joke too and they seem to have access all areas.
Useful Tips:
variations in food prices. A Greek salad can be from 3-12 euro depending where you eat. They also bring you bread when you sit down which they charge you for too. Motor bikes will drive you nuts! be warned! Apart from that, Santorini is a wonderful place.

Amazing! what more can i say, good food and Vino excellent transport around the island and wonderful friendly people. Walk for miles up and down the beach road and you are never short of a place to sit and'people watch'. We stayed in the resort of Perissa just off the main stretch in a wonderful apartment that looked like a little church, it had amazing views of the monastry which you could walk up to (at the end of the day though as it was far to hot)would certainly return to the same area as we got around on quad bikes which was great and it enabled us to get to all those little towns were the local bus doesnt get. I would give this holiday 9/10
Useful Tips:
Dont be put off by the black sand beaches as they are well looked after,a must do is a visit to Thira.

Santorini is a beautiful island. it offers something for everyone and is very friendly. Santorini peopke are very proud of their island and with good reason. It has it's own history and the vineyards are everywhere! The beaches vary greatly in style but all are clean and the sea is great. Scuba diving is fabulous especially as the island is volcanic. The formations under water are amazing. Food is great particularly if you go where the locals go or make an effort to get away from the more tourist spots. You must watch the sunset from Santo Wines - the best view. Oia is stunning and most people go there for the sunset but it can be very, very busy. Overall Santorini is a lovely holiday destination and the people are so friendly.

A really great Greek island with two contrasting sides of the island. Not a place for sandy beaches but the resorts were lovely - the tourist trail on one side, with the more classic white-washed buildings to the North - just like you see on the postcards! Very pretty with beautiful views and fantastic hillside restaurants. Even the restaurants in the tourist traps served very good quality food and provided excellent service.A car is required to appreciate the whole island and in between the towns you'll find some off the beaten track beaches worth stopping at. We stayed at an Apart-hotel about 50 metres from the beach and it was ideal. Worth noting that it can get extremely busy at peak times with the cruise ships stopping off but don't let that deter you from a beautiful Greek island well worth visitng.
Useful Tips:
The North of the island is very picturesque. Great arts and crafts to buy - but can be quite expensive. Car hire is a must!

We have been to many greek islands before but going to Santorini has been our favourate, Santorini is in a world of its own with all its beauty and natural charcater. We stayed in a beautifull resort called Perissa which had everything we could of wanted from our holiday. The beach was lovely and it was nice to sit back and relax with a bottle of mythos (beer) and watch the worls go by. We found the people were very friendly and always there to help. There was also i small water park in the resort, It wa snice to see the local people enjoying themselves. Perissa has everthing you need whether you want a relaxing holiday or energetic, There was a local bus service that runs from perissa to the capital Thira every 30 mins and its dirt cheap. Thira is amzing when u enter thira from perissa all u see are these little white washed houses scatterd over the mountain side, when in thira the views are breathe taking, view over the volcano are a must
Useful Tips:
Visit charlina restaurant on perissa beach front best greek food ive ever tasted and the staff and cetainly entertaining. Visit Thira and marvel at the views over the volcano and go when the sun is setting and they are the best sunsets in the world. Take a trip to the volcano and walk to the top the views fab. and a must is a visit to Oia which is the furthest point on the island and this is the best place to go to see that magnificant sunset.
