- I had been to Rhodes before but had only stayed with friends who live there. My friend wanted to go to Rhodes but I wasn't sure. The last time I went was about 15 years ago and I found it to be dirty and in need of refurbishment. How it has changed.....I was astounded at the quality of the beach, very clean, beautful turquoise waters and very lovely people. The hotel we stayed in was first class, the food was lovely, the rooms clean and fresh and not at all basic like I was expecting. The people are so friendly and really look after you, nothing is too much. Al in all we had a fabulous holiday, the weather was glorious every day and old Rhodes town is a must visit place. Takes you back in time within the wall of the old castle, just awe inspiring! Would return there in a flash and recommend it to all walks of life. I defy anyone to say that Rhodes doesn't have everything

- The beaches, Rhodes Old Town, the old harbour and the wonderful people. Steeped in history, a very beautful island

- Rhodes is a lovely island, the people are fantastic. We were there at the beginning of the season and everyone was falling over themselves for our benefit. Our hotel was upgraded because the one we booked wasn't opening until later in the month - another bonus for us. Couldn't have been better.
- Useful Tips:
- It can be hilly or quite a few steps within the hotels due to the fact that it is a rocky island. Would suggest the beginning or the end of the season is best because it is a very popular place and could be rather crowded in the height of the season, which I am sure would suit some people.

- Rhodes was really nice, but the evenings where a little bit daunting because each bar owner was vieing for your custom. This made walking out in the evening like walking the gauntlet. Not nice at all. The weather and everything else super.
- Useful Tips:
- Evening time, like running the gauntlet each bar trying to get you to drink there. Too much pressure.

- We always thought when we went to the Greek Isles that it would be very expensive especially Rhodes, but we found a gem in place called Afandou and we have now been there every other year for the past 5 years and we love it even more. There is so much too do for young and old and it still has it's own village style life which we both love. Everyone is so friendly and they make you feel so welcome in the Tavernas, Bars, Shops and any other leisure facilities which we have been to over the years. Also they remeber you from one year to the next which is very welcoming and we always recommend friends and family to go there and a majority have done and they are very much in the opinion of us what a lovely place is AFANDOU and IT'S PEOPLE ARE.
- Useful Tips:
- To go to the Tavernas and bars and see how friendly the people are there. Find out for themselves as it is very nice to explore a new place.

- Although not one of the world's largest islands, it is still very interesting with its attached history, friendly people, guaranteed hot weather and loads of excursions made easy through boats and buses in Rhodes Town. Plenty of nice resturants, great food at reasonable prices.
- Useful Tips:
- Buses are very cheap and taxis are very good value for money, making it easy to travel around the Island, without having to hire a care or scooter. Make a point in going to the Rhodes Town museums which are very interesting. Kallathea is another nice place to visit which has a real "sun Trap" of a beach and the surroundings there have all recently been renovated. Lindos is another place that you should not miss which has a lot of historics. Several films were made on this Island including "The Guns of Naverone" and "Escape to Athena"
