Comments:
Crete is not only the largest of the Greek islands but also boasts the richest culture. Its proud people, rich history, archaeological sites and mythical legends, all lend to its unique character and charm. The island is totally steeped in history, both ancient and modern. It is a historians haven, an archaeologists dream, a holiday makers paradise. For it is also an island of outstanding natural beauty, with spectacular coastlines and beaches to suit all tastes. One of the most picturesque parts of the island is the town of Rethymno - one can spend hours just walking around the old town admiring all it's venetian architecture and little narrow streets full of shops.I could go on but then there would be nothing left for you to discover for yourself so go on then, treat yourself to a visit.
Useful Tips:
Eat where the greeks eat - they always serve the best food there.
