Limassol is the biggest resort on the island of Cyprus so as you can imagine, you will not be lacking in things to keep you busy. Located on the southern coast, the city is renowed for its long cultural tradition. There are a number of attractions on offer and those wanting to explore its history will love the amount of museums and archaeological sites that are on offer.

Weather
As you would expect with Cyprus holidays, the weather is superb all year round. Sun lovers should come on holidays to Limassol in the summer, but remember the beaches may be quite busy in the peak season so make sure you grab your sunbed early! Temperatures range from the high 20s to over 30s in the summer but the winter doesnt lack sun as it is not unusual for the temperatures to be in the high 20s.

History lovers will want to head to the 14th Century castle which was where Richard the Lionheart married Queen Berengaria or travel to nearby Curium and take in the sights of the famous Roman ruins. Those wanting to taste some local wines should participate in a factory tour in Kolossi so after a day of wine tasting why not come back to Limassol and experience the shopping scene. Jewellery fans will find great deals in the Old Town as well as other handmade items such as leather gifts. Experiencing the local market is a must as they offer a wide range of homegrown vegetables and fish.

The nightlife here may not be as lively as that of Agia Napa but it is not short of places to go. There are plenty of discos, bars and tavernas all over the city and the place is also famous for live music. You can either party to late or slow down by having a meal in the variety of restaurants that are on offer. You can experience traditional tavernas or international foods, so whatever you fancy, it is bound to be on offer.

The beaches in Limassol here are a must-see and many of them consist of dark shingle.
