- Croatia is a beautiful country, steeped in natural history, culture and beauty. A car is necessary if you want to explore the mountain, coast roads and really feel the local atmosphere. Go armed with you phrase book, plenty of people speak English but it is lovely to try to recipricate the gesture. Sand is hard to find in Croatia, however many miles of beautiful, white, shingle slopes into beutiful clear water where an assortment of sea life is waiting to be watched.........
- Useful Tips:
- Krka National park is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, with opportunities to swim in natural waterfalls. Any of the island hopping boat tours are great value for money, very safe and give you the oppotunity to explore more of the coastline. Trogir - with it's Italian feel and beautiful harbour restaurants is a lovely place to dine out. Take your crocs or beach sandles and be prepared to wear them in the sea the urchins are not far aare and though beautiful to look out cause pain, that can be avoided!

- Great resort, lots of places to eat, cultural places to see etc. Don't go here if you like a sandy beach, beaches tend to be rocky with steps down to the sea, although see is stunning. Photos before we went looked like they had been touched up as so beautiful but lovely woodland walk from where we were staying (Laguna Bellevue Apartments) down to Porec (although there is a little tram type vehicle that you can pick up). Other downside to where we were staying were the number of steps, may not be suitable for all. Also found Croatia quite pricy - they are not in EU and we didn't find any wine we liked (unusual for us!) - we tried enough!. All in all, well worth a visit.
- Useful Tips:
- Beautiful scenery, Porec itself has so much to see - take advantage of any trips - well worth going on although some involve quite lengthy travel times.
Fantastic - we are looking forward to the £1000 towards our next holiday.
