The establishment is designed around a maritime theme in celebration of
Havana?s salty, swashbuckling history and is liberally decorated with
signal flags, model ships, barrels, ships? wheels, lanterns and other
seagoing paraphernalia. There?s a good selection of wines and some
excellent tapas at the bar, along with exuberant performances of
Cubano-Flamenco music every day.

- British nationals must have a valid passport. A visa is also required if the visitor does not have a Tourist Card. A Tourist Visa Card, costing US$25 or equivalent, may be issued by tour operators, travel agents or airlines for a single entry holiday trip of up to 30 days.

- Most older hotels use 110-volt power, while newer hotels use 220 volts. A variety of outlets are in use, but the flat and round two-pin plugs are most common.

- The official currency is the Cuban Peso (CUP), divided into 100 centavos, but the 'tourist' currency is the Peso Convertible (CUC), which replaces the US Dollar as currency in tourist related establishments.
