Holiday type:
Active
Comments:
It was a quiet resort so not for those looking for night life. A great base for an activity holiday with hire car to explore the island. Food ok and we had a packed lunch each day which the hotel provided. This meant we could explore, find the sun when it rained, climb mount teide, go on a boat trip to La Gomera, etc. anywhre on the island was within a short drive on great roads.
Useful Tips:
They should definitely hire a car and explore the island. It was far more beautiful than I had imagined and there are lots of areas of stunning beauty to see.If a holiday maker is into climbing Mount Teide is a must and they should make sure they visit the office in Santa Cruz to obtain a pass which will allow them to visit the crater at the summit ( this can also be visited via the cable car). They must take warm clothes and hike boots as it can snow at the top despite weather being very warm at sea level. Also if weather is bad at their resort travel round as we found the sun whenever it rained in our part of the island (las Castillas).
