- My sister and I have been to Lanazorte three times always stayed in Matagorda. This time we disided to stay in Porta De Carmen which is beautiful, we've just returned from a weeks holidays in the Bitacora. We were'nt impressed when we arrived at 20.00 on Easter Sunday the reception area was locked on both ends ie: street and pool, tour rep then had to run round to try and get someone. It ended up the rooms were just left laying open with keys and a note on the tabel inside. You are very far out from the beach and if anyone had walking difficulities this is not recommended as the hill you have to walk up and down is very, very steep. The pool area was'nt very clean, we did'nt see anyone around it for the whole week also the pool bar didn't open till the wednesday after we arrived. Lanzarote itself is beautiful, plenty of places to eat and the beaches are georgous. I would recommend the Sol Apartment/Hotel in Matagorda which is right on the beach and far nicer than Bitacora.
- Useful Tips:
- The Royal Restaurant on the beach front towards Matagorda stay clear food was not at all good, and the plates came out with finger marks on them.

- We thought it was a great place to spend a family holiday. The apartment was clean and all the usual amenities. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The facilities were good too especially for young children. We did not eat in the restaurant but did avail of the snacks which were good. The overall appearance is clean and modern. The pool is cleaned every day. The rooms every other day. It is pretty much central though up a very steep hill which we didnt mind as we could walk off our meal on the way home! Highly recommended. Not expensive either!

- Hotel is up a steep hill so really not suitalble for elderly.
