We love Lanzarote..yes its windy! but thats an added bonus with the heat, even in November. it keeps you cool, no sticky heat especially at night. Apart from that, its a beautiful country with Lovely people. We found plenty of bars and restuarants, with a wide selection of food from all around the world. It was just a lovely relaxing holiday...i really recommend Lanzarote!
Useful Tips:
go onto the main stretch of the beach to eat and drink, its much cheaper. Oh and the Chinese buffet resturants are a must. fantastic food and such friendly people.

Comments:
This place is like another world. The south of the island has some beautiful coasts and amazing inland volcanic mountains. The roads are good and there is not too much traffic this time of year. I takes about 1 hour to reach the northern tip of the island. The north is windier and less attractive but the are sun lovely almost deserted beaches, some with surfing opportunities.
Useful Tips:
Well worth hiring a car for the week and it can cost less that Airport transfers and gives you the opportunity to explore the island. The fire mountain tor is well worth the trip. Take the opportunity to enjoy a camel ride too. I would love to return here again soon. Recommended resort Playa Blanca. Porta Del Carmen has more night life and cheap food at the restaurants but is not quite as nice a Playa Blanca.

This was our first visit to lanzarote and we loved it, we hired a car which we think is essential as we wouldnt have liked to stay in the same place all day every day. Costa teguise is quiet which suited us. The hotel El Trebol was good the appartment was very basic the food was at times repetative but nice. staff were very friendly and helpful. We went all over the island and especially loved famara beach and Arrieta Beach great for swimming and surfing or or bodyboarding especially famara what a beautiful scenic place. We went out to eat on a few occasions our hotel was all inclusive but as we said the food got a bit repatitive. To eat out around the island is not to expensive you must try the sea food at Arrieta local sea food caught there. You must go to the Parque National Timanfaya the views are spectacular. We will definitely return to Lanzarote but will probably go self catering as you are not so tied to the complex. and maybe leave it later to book to get a Better deal.
Useful Tips:
Famara beach, Arrieta beach, the market in teguise on a sunday. Papagayo beach. You can hire body boards in famara lots of places. We hired a car which you will need to visit all these destinations we hired it in Costa teguise across the road from El Trebol hotel at the back of Ledgends pub it was 35 euros cheaper there than the one at the one across the road from the hotel. It is cheaper to hire a car than to pay for all the coach trips which they try to offer you at the hotels it cost us 135euros for 10 days which we didnt think that was too bad.We also visited the jardin de cactus if you like gardens thats worth a visit, we also went to the caves de verdes that is well worth a visit. Its not too expencive to get in to these places. We didnt stay in the hotel bar most nights we went to the pub across the road Ledgends the owner Russell is really welcoming and the staff are really friendly.Lots of entertainment on most evenings great for the kids.

Comments:
After always going to Purto Del Carman in Lanzarote I deceided to visit a different part of the Island for a change. When arriving at Costa Teguise I found it to be so chilled out I did not want my holiday to end. I had a fantastic time and whilst there took my partner to visit Purto Del Carman and we both agreed that we much preferred the slower paced and not so cramped town of Costa Teguise. I found Purto Del Carman to have changed alot since my last visit and it felt a bit like blackpool - cheesy, dirty and full of lager louts. I suppose if you are looking for a holiday like this is would be the perfect destination, which is what i would have enjoyed 10 years ago but for a resort with a little more sophistication i would recommend Costa Teguise without a doubt.
Useful Tips:
Legands bar was really good for good quality entertainment and they prices for food and drink are very reasonable. The shopping centre by the beach is great and we had a few good meals, again great value for money.

The weather is beautiful in Puerto del Carmen. A fantastic variety of places to visit and beaches to laze about on. The beaches are unique and the kids will be amazed at the black sand. Wonderfully clear water and the locals were very pleasant. Lots of cheap places to eat out. All in all an unforgettable family holiday that will give happy memories for many years to come.
Useful Tips:
The Green Oasis and caves are great destinations for a day trip and of course there is the Lanzarote Aquarium to visit which will keep both children and adults occupied for a full day and enthusiastic about returning! A bus trip to see the famous volcanoes will keep the children amused, while being educational too!
