The resort of Maspalomas was lovely, with some nice little boutique shops. The beach was really good as long as you don't wander to far and stray into the largest nudist beach in Europe, we were with our young children and it was a little embarrassing. As long as you are forewarned it's ok. Fantastic climate all year round and would go back for the weather alone.
Useful Tips:
Neigbouring Playa del Ingles has everything you could need if Maspalomas is a little quiet for you.

Comments:
Maspalomas is a great place to be with all year round good weather. We go summer and winter and love it. The best place to vist is Puerto de Mogan or 'little venice'. With its quaint little streets, lovely sandy cove and excellent bars and restaurants all around. Maspalomas itself is very flat and nice to walk around. Its a nice walk down to the beach via the estury and you can eat expensively or as cheap as you like, lots of various restaurants. Night life is low key in Maspalomas but you can always go into Playa del Ingles if you want to dance the night away. Maspalomas is ideal for couples, families and groups of girls or boys who want to chill out during the day and party at night in Playa del Ingles. We go every year and have done for the last five years.
Useful Tips:
Visit Puerto de Mogan by bus. Walk to the beach via the estury its a nice walk.Try the jeep safari and the horseriding in the mountains.

This destination was great, the weather was beautiful not a cloud in the sky, there is not a lot do in the area that we stayed in but very good for a relaxing holiday.
Useful Tips:
There are not many ordinary shops just designer outlets in a purpose made shopping mall. The beach is quite a distance but a bus runs from just outside.

Comments:
I stayed approx 2miles from the beach in area'Campo de Internationale'(C/I).'Campo de Golf'area is much closer to the beach/restaurants but accommodation in C/I is much less expensive.Plus most appartments in C/I are serviced by regular free private buses & it's only 10 minute journey to the beach/restaurants.The taxi service is also excellent, regular & cheap & taxis are very up market & clean so it's easy getting home to after a night out.The resort Melonaras is adjacent to Maspalomas- it's where the 'well heeled' go! Accommodation is expensive in Melonaras but staying in Maspalomas you have the best of both worlds because you can catch a quick taxi to Melonaras at night & enjoy the fantastic restaurants, soak up the atmosphere & pretend you are a millionaire!Another neighbouring resort is Playa del Ingles- which should be avoided!- it's dated & tacky. The big plus with Maspalomas is the huge sandy beach & sand dunes there's even a nudist section which makes for an interesting stroll!
Useful Tips:
Most of the appartments/hotels are serviced by regular buses. If staying in the Campo de Internationale area you can catch these buses at stops around the two large roundabouts in the area. The buses are very regular & you can be at the beach/restaurants/neighbouring resorts within 10 mins.Maspalomas & Melonaras are practically one resort with one running into the other. The restaurants on the Maspalomas side are excellent- great fish in the little restaurant which overlooks the beach. The restaurants & shops on the Melonaras side are more expensive but the service & food are excellent & there is lots of style to look at while you eat. It's easy to catch a taxi home because the taxi rank is beside both resorts near the lighthouse & there are always plenty of taxis waiting.Taxis are very cheap too. One thing for you ladies on holiday alone - watch out for international playboy types who may try to take you home. If that's your thing, then there's another good reason to go!

Useful Tips:
bannana bar in faro 2 and the best place to eat is broncemar in faro 2 opposite the shop not on the outside, and if you like the british pubs ind quiz nights head for the british bull dog in ingles.
