During this time it also receives north-westerly winds, providing a cooling breeze as you relax on the beach. In the autumnal months, the weather stays very pleasant, peaking at around 23° Celsius, providing a warm and sunny break from October to February.

A holiday in Costa Calma is certainly a good choice for those who like their holidays to be serene and peaceful. The town's beaches are highly regarded and perfect for a day of lounging, with fine white sands and crystal clear blue waters. If you feel like exerting yourself a little, there are windsurfing and fishing opportunities too. The town has a thriving Sunday market selling food and crafts, and also well worth a visit is the National Park near the Jandia Peninsula, which is home to all kinds of exotic flora and wildlife, and will make an excellent location for a picnic. Because Fuerteventura is relatively small, other towns are also easily reachable, and well worth visiting.
Nightlife
The Canaries have long enjoyed a reputation for being a top clubbing destination for young people, but Fuerteventura is an exception to this, as its towns are very traditional and quiet. In this respect it is much more family-orientated, though it still of course provides a hugely entertaining night out. Landscape
Costa Calma holidays are great for anyone who enjoys the beauty of an unspoilt landscape. The town's most splendid quality is its beach, which is cleaned daily, and offers spectacular sunset views. History
Costa Calma was originally built around a small village called Canada Del Rio, and began its development as a popular tourist resort in the 1970s when the first hotel was built, which has since seen it grow and grow in the wonderful resort it is today.
